."Are you thirsty or have you gotten complacent and put your dreams on hold? Are you living passively, thinking maybe one day you’ll get your fire back? The problem is you’re dehydrated, not physically, but spiritually. Your thirst has been numbed. When you push those dreams and desires down so long, you lose your thirst. But I believe today, thirst is coming back, dreams are waking up, what God promised you is still alive on the inside. Now do your part: start believing again, get your fire back, get your passion back. If you’ll stay thirsty, God will satisfy you with good things. Even dreams you’ve let go of—you think it’s too late—God can still bring them to pass."

."Are you letting things upset you that don’t have to upset you? Are you giving away your power, letting what people do determine whether or not you’re going to be happy? You need to take control back of your happiness. Quit putting it in someone else’s hands. If you’re counting on everyone to treat you nice and be kind and say good things in order to be happy, you’re giving them your power. But you control your happiness. You have to make up your mind, no matter what people do, no matter what they say, how they treat you, they’re not going to steal your joy. They may not want to be happy, but they shouldn’t keep you from being happy. They may be rude, angry, disrespectful, but you can’t let their issues sour your day. Let it bounce off of you and enjoy your day in spite of what they do."
3. You may have promises that you’ve believed for a long time, dreams God put in your heart. Every circumstance says, “It’s never going to happen. What you’re believing for is dead. It would have moved by now. You would have seen some improvement, some growth.” Don’t believe those lies. Keep thanking God that it’s coming, keep talking like it’s on the way, keep expecting things to change in your favor. Our attitude should be, “What I’m believing for may look dead, but I know what God promised me is still alive. I’m not moved by what I feel. I’m not moved by what’s not working out, by how long it’s been, by what hasn’t improved. I know what God started in my life He will finish. I know what He promised me will come to pass.”

."Don’t go the next twenty years letting the same things upset you, the same coworker get on your nerves, the same grumpy relative steal your joy. They may not change, but here’s the key: you can change. Sometimes, we’ve trained ourselves to respond a certain way. “If they say this, I’m going to get upset. If she leaves me out, it’s going to ruin my night. If your crazy uncle makes fun of me, I’m going to tell him off.” The problem is you’re letting them control you. If they perform a certain way, it’s going to sour your day. Why don’t you take the controls back?"
.You may not see any sign of what God promised you. You could live worried, stressed, doubting. Try a different approach. Every time those thoughts tell you, “You’ll never get well, never break the addiction, never see your family restored. It’s been too long; it would have happened by now.” Turn that worry into worship. “Father, thank You that what You started in my life You will finish. Thank You that Your plans for me are for good, that my latter days will be better than my former days. Lord, I thank You that You’ve already taken care of what I’m concerned about. The moment I prayed, things shifted in my favor; You set the miracle into motion.”
."If you’re going to see the fullness of what God has for you, you have to say, “I still believe.” There will be people that try to talk you out of your promise. They can’t see what God put in your heart. Don’t expect everyone to be for you. Sometimes, it’s your own thoughts that tell you, “It’s not going to happen. It will never work out.” Tune all that out. Don’t give doubt the time of day. Keep your mind filled with faith, filled with hope. "
."The Scripture says, “Call on the name of the Lord and He will answer you.” Sometimes, we call on people, call on our friends, call on our relatives. They can only do so much, but when you call on the Source, the Creator of the Universe, that’s when things happen that you couldn’t make happen. God wants us to depend on Him. "
8. "Sometimes, God doesn't remove the obstacle because He’s using the obstacle to develop us. He’s getting us prepared for where He’s taking us. We don’t grow in the good times when everything is easy, everyone is for us, things are falling into place. We like that much better, but we wouldn’t reach our potential. We grow when it’s difficult, when we’re uncomfortable, when we have to stretch, when there’s resistance. That’s why you can’t pray away every difficulty; you can’t pray away everything you don’t like. If the situation is not changing, then God is using the situation to change you."
."God wants us to depend on Him. He wants us to see Him as the Source, to recognize His goodness. Too often, we’re striving to make things happen, discouraged because it’s taking too long, trying to beat down doors. God is saying, “Come to Me. Ask Me for help. Call on My name and acknowledge Me as your Source.” Peter worked all night trying to catch a fish while Jesus sat on the shore with a fish dinner waiting for him. What you’re believing for God has already prepared."

."Too often, because of disappointments, delays, things that haven’t worked out, we’ve watered down our dreams. We’ve lowered our expectations. We’re not stretching, believing for great things, believing to get well. Don’t shortchange yourself. “I’ll never get out of debt. God, just help me pay my bills. Our family will never be happy; just help us to get along.” No, pray bold prayers. God is going to fill the containers you bring Him. Are you putting limits on what God wants to do in your life? Are you focused on what you think can happen only in your ability? You’re looking at the natural, but God is supernatural. He controls the universe. He parts red seas. He brought water out of a rock. He fed thousands with two fish. Don’t base your belief on what you can do; base it on what God can do."
